J.D. Vance, the Republican candidate for Ohio Senate, is calling it a "problem" that an attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband has become a political issue, saying the focus should be on the immigration status of the alleged assailant.

Trump blames rhetoric from the left for political violence after Kirk murder

Vice President JD Vance posted on the platform before the announcement of Kirk's death, first asking for prayers for Kirk, then adding, "Dear God, protect Charlie in his darkest hour."

"We ask everyone to pray for [Kirk] and his family. I'm just going to ... state the obvious here. This is detestable," House Speaker Mike Johnson said.
